Without the struggle of breaking out of its chrysalis, the butterfly would not develop the strength to open its wings and fly.
It would die without having taken flight; the world never to see its beauty.
The challenge of breaking free is key to its transformation.
As it is for us:
To break free of the conditioning that encases us in suffering is challenging.
To let go of the behaviours, beliefs, opinions, values and judgements with regard to how we see ourselves and the world around us, is not always easy.
But it is worth it!
Because to do so, is to know what it is to be free.
Free of anxiety, worry, stress, fear, anger and all the other disturbing mental-emotional reactions to life.
Free in the realisation that we have nothing to heal, that nothing is broken, that there’s nothing to attain – that the peaceful joy of our true, divine nature, had just become obscured by the deluded perception of ‘I am.…’, the chrysalis of separation.
Unlike the butterfly, we are likely to return to the chrysalis time and again, as those old patterns take a while to dissolve completely. However, having tasted freedom, our perception has forever changed and we are committed to keep spreading our wings: expressing who we truly are and flying free.
This retreat is to help you with that, and during the weekend you will: –.
Identify the components of the chrysalis – the conditioning that is the cause of your entrapment and suffering.
Become aware of the habits and patterns of behaviour that are keeping you contained within that.
Learn how to let go of those habits and patterns, breaking free of the chrysalis, opening your wings and flying freely.
Take home the understanding and skills to keep flying, as your awakening continues in daily life.
To facilitate this, we will: –
Explore the mystical realms, to consciously connect with the freedom of your true nature and to clear past-life and other hidden influences.
Deepen into the liberating power of self-awareness in day-to-day life.
Practice the ancient arts of tai chi and chi kung.
Penetrate the illusions of the separate-self with enlightening meditation practices.
Develop your relationship with the healing qualities of Mother Earth.
There will also be time to enjoy the company of like-minded souls, together with the beautiful, peaceful and relaxing surroundings of Samye Ling (the first Tibetan Buddhist center in the West) – its temple site, gardens, fairy hill, the café, shop and local countryside.
This retreat is suitable for beginners and those with experience.
Price: £450, which includes single room accommodation and full board (excludes transport).

“Thank you so much for such a wonderful retreat. The only way I could describe it, is that it’s like I’ve spent my whole life living in one town thinking that was the whole universe and the whole world and everything, and then somebody suddenly told me the truth and took me on a round the world trip. The healing I experienced was profound and a huge thanks to yourself and Greg for taking the time to help with that. I don’t have the words to explain the change in feelings, peace and contentment. I’d do it all over again tomorrow knowing I’d learn so much more again. Excited for what’s to come and future courses/retreats. Lots of love and thanks” Eloise
